Two Monsters, One Voice

Of the millions of lives,
I’d sacrifice all but one,
So hear me far above,
I will save you from eternity.

The echoing screams in the sky,
Pooling red onto the cracking streets,
Everything is reaching its end,
I don’t dare take it back.

Tell me you appreciate the gesture,
Somewhere in the building slaughter.
Echoing in my mind,
All the words and lies.

I can still remember your voice,
The day I learned of responsibility,
When this boy became a man,
When this man failed his responsibility.

Do anything to make it better,
To reverse this uncaring nature,
I’d do anything,
Anything.

So with a promise to uphold,
Taking this weapon in my hands,
I begin this massacre’s recital,
Hearing the echoing cries of the billions,

I will not save./I can not save.

Carving through the world,
Holding my head praying not to break,
Your voice pushing me forward,
Your smile’s memory plunging this slick sword along.

Until there are none left,
Until I receive my wish,
Until I can pass it on,
To see the world in your arms,

I will not hesitate.

I hope when you wake,
You hate me,
Berate me,
Fear me,
Make me the monster to be beaten.

So I can know,
The next world,
Without doubt,
Is in the right hands.
