GoodMan’s™ Favorite Monster

Call the songbirds,
A soul’s singing their tune,
And not a single drummer’s here to play the backing.

No one wants to put their name on a hate crime’s single,
But they’re damn ready to make it a bestseller.
So don’t you worry baby boy,
You’ll be tortured for daring to be born,
Till another sits on your throne of bones.

Maybe they’ll be hated a little more,
Spit on for the sake of a goodman’s ego,
Cause no one wants to be the villain,
Even if their name was never put on the page,

They all share the same body it seems,
Your existence is a stain on their shoe,
And don’t you dare hurt a good man’s name.
How dare you boy how dare you.

I can’t see how,
We dared to step onto this earth.
How dare we not hang our heads and blow out our brains,
Sitting on the womb’s edge,
A demon born in repose.

Call it as you may,
I guess I’m just a monster in disguise,
Still waiting for my time to hit the grave.
I hope somewhere out there,
They remember this imp’s name beyond the angel’s spit and hate.

I’m still living,
As insulting as it is,
Don’t you dare complain till I’ve ended the world,
I’d like a few more years if you please.
Just let me feel his burning lips for once,
Or is a bloody kiss the perfect tragedy to heal your superior souls?

I can’t wait to see the world end,
Call me the monster you met in your dreams,
I refuse to impress but I’m sure buddy,
The guy on the sidewalk is gonna beat you to your knees,
It was worth the safety of a bullet to the head.

Add my name to the grave,
Kiss my cold lips,
Listen to the songbirds laughing in their chairs.
Give it time,
Let me return to this awful world,
Riding my burning chariot.

Leaving the good man dead,
Bringing forth the end,
So my sweet demon,
I can take you home.
